Burning up while burning out: compassion fatigue awareness and burnout prevention for practitioners
Registration for this session is additional to the congress registration fee and is: €38.5 standard and €44 on site.
Aims : to understand compassion fatigue and burnout, including their similarities and differences; to define and compare these conditions and to explore specific triggers; to make participants aware of key signs and symptoms and how to manage stressors and their consequences; to highlight physical, emotional/mental and behavioural symptoms; to describe strategies for management and prevention, including mindfulness training and behaviours that can help reduce the frequency of fatigue and prevent burnout; to introduce theories that will assist the translation of conceptual understanding to the workplace and personal change; to provide participants with the opportunity to create their own individualised management and prevention plan.
