To provide a detailed review of the various patterns that are seen on high-resolution CT chest imaging; to review the sizing, appearance, and distribution of lung opacities in relation to the various differential diagnoses in the clinical setting; to provide guidelines for basic differential diagnosis on the basis of clinical history, the distribution of various patterns, and the presence of associated abnormalities.
