Chronic airway diseases
Exercise, rehabilitation and physiology
Symposium
From small airways dysfunction to dyspnoea in COPD: from physiology to clinical application
Aims : Despite the large body of research on the nature of airway dysfunction in COPD, the relationship between small airways dysfunction and its potential clinical consequences (such as lung hyperinflation and exertional dyspnoea) remains poorly understood. The pharmacological and non-pharmacological approaches that can modify this relationship should be discussed for physiological (lung mechanics and lung hyperinflation) and clinical (dyspnoea and reduced quality of life) reasons.
Target audience :
Allied health professional, Clinician, Junior member, Lung function technician, Pathologist, Physiologist, Pulmonologist, Radiologist, Researcher, Respiratory physician, Respiratory therapist, Scientist, Trainee
