Aims : Transbronchial cryobiopsy is a new modality that is used to obtain enough lung parenchyma tissue for diagnosing a variety of diffuse parenchymal lung diseases. Although the diagnostic yield is about 80%, this method associates with a significantly lower rate of complications than surgical lung biopsy. Its introduction into clinical practice could significantly improve the diagnosis and treatment of patients with these disorders.
