Genetics, pathology and therapy of neuroendocrine tumours of the lung

Aims : Recently, knowledge about the genetics, pathology, and therapy of neuroendocrine lung tumours has increased hugely. This session is based on the 2015 WHO classification of tumours of the lung and other recent publications and will discuss (1) the genetic findings in typical and atypical carcinoids, (2) the pathological and differential diagnoses of pulmonary neuroendocrine tumours, (3) the genetic alterations in high grade carcinomas (SCLC and LCNEC), and (4) the treatment regimens for patients with lung neuroendocrine tumours.
