Aims : The objectives of this symposium are (1) to learn about the correlation between COPD and cardiovascular disorders and the importance of this correlation for the healthcare system; (2) to understand the aetiology and pathogenesis of COPD and cardiovascular comorbidity; (3) to improve knowledge about the diagnostic modalities (thoracic ultrasound, CT, MRI, arterial stiffness, ECG, and echocardiography) for COPD with cardiovascular comorbidities and their benefits and disadvantages for patients; (4) to improve knowledge about the therapeutic procedures for COPD patients with cardiovascular comorbidities; and (5) to understand the importance of non-invasive ventilation in patients with COPD and heart failure.
