Digital health: transforming the respiratory landscape

Aims : The wave of digital health is growing continuously and promises to transform the experience of patients. Respiratory medicine is in the centre of these developments because it can benefit from all of the components of the digital patient experience. The current presentation addresses the role of e-health in respiratory conditions, with a particular focus on asthma and COPD. It assesses the wave of investment in digital health and the need for patient direction and involvement in the expanding number of respiratory apps. It also describes an EU Horizon2020 project called “myAirCoach” and its innovative vision for asthma management and treatment in the future.
