Aims : An ERS/ISAM society joint session. This session will showcase the latest developments in inhalation medicine and cutting-edge aerosol science. The audience will hear the experiences of patients with respiratory disease and the impact inhalers have on their lives; learn about the efficiency with which new inhaler devices and nebulisers treat asthma and COPD; appreciate the influence of psychological and behavioural factors on patient non-adherence to inhaled therapy; and be aware of the novel developments in aerosol science that are being utilised in CF management.
